Welcome to my Basenji site! My name is Joey Mancilla and I've been breeding and showing Dobermans for more than 20 years now. However, since we feel that we have already established the Doberman breed here in the Philippines, we decided to put some of our attention towards our second love....the BASENJIS! Our love for this breed started when our friend Brad gifted us with a Basenji that doesn't seem to fit in with his other dogs in his kennel. When she arrived at my kennel, I was surprised to see that she doesn't get along with any of my dogs as well. Therefore, I decided to keep her as a pet instead. However, a few months ago, when I visited my friend Bob Dawson's kennel to search for the perfect Whippet male for my females at home, I was in awe when I saw his numerous Basenji winners and champions instead! The Basenji fire lit up inside and I fell instantly in love with the breed all over again. They always say that you'll never know what "love" is until it strikes you. I say sometimes "love" just lay dormant until the right time comes along. Thus, now, I can finally say I've found another breed that I really love and respect. This is a site dedicated to my BASENJIS. I hope that by practicing what I've been doing with my Dobermans here in the Philippines, I'll be able to do the same with the Basenjis as well. Someday, people will look up to the Basenjis in the rings and with my true intentions for the breed, they will be just like my Dobermans shinning wherever they go to be shown. We are working out in bringing "Beep" this month from Columbus Ohio USA. "Beep" is a half brother to 2008 Westminister Best of Breed winner. He is an American Champion at 13 months, group winner and sweepstakes winner. |
